The first round of the 2016 Austrian Nationals was held on the wonderful track of the MRC Oberaich in the middle of Styria. Very nice to see that 1/10th scale is growing again with a record entry field.

It is quite a unique track here in Austria because it is possible to race 1/10 scale as well as 1/8th scale and both feel right on the track. In the past years the track had a lot of traction, but this year the sugaring did not work as usual and the surface started to become glazed and polished and was super slippery but still very abrasive.

Both of my cars felt amazing from the first moment they hit the track, which was the first time on real dirt as well. I was able to get the TQ in both classes, with quite a good gap - finals started a bit nervous for me and it took a while to find my rhythm and pace - after that I could manage the gap and hold on to the win in both classes in the first 2 mains.
